Blade Gap Adjustment
The gap between the shearing blades is a critical factor influencing cut quality and machine durability. The optimal gap varies depending on the sheet metal thickness and material properties. For mild steel, a gap of 4-6% of the sheet thickness is recommended. A smaller gap can result in blade damage, while a larger gap can lead to burrs on the cut edge.
Blade Alignment
Proper alignment of the shearing blades ensures straight and clean cuts. The blades should be parallel to each other and perpendicular to the worktable. Misalignment can cause uneven cutting, material distortion, and excessive blade wear. Use a precision measuring tool to check alignment and adjust the blade holders accordingly until they are perfectly aligned.
Rake Angle Optimization
